Wearing shorts (men and women), low-cut tops, and showing midriff is not recommended as it will restrict your entry into buildings of a religious nature and family homes and is considered disrespectful to the local culture.
Long, light-couloured, lightweight sleeved shirts, trousers and skirts are respectful, cover your body, keep you cool in the heat and protect you from the harsh sun.

Itinerary:
You will be collected from your hotel and transferred to a riad in the medina. Here you’ll learn the Arabic words for the ingredients for your recipe of the day.
Visit the souq and mix with the local Marrakeshi as you shop for the fresh produce for your meal; meat and vegetables, herbs and spices that form the basis of Moroccan cuisine. The perfect opportunity to try out your new language skills.
Spices are used extensively and have been imported here for thousands of years. There are also many homegrown ingredients like saffron from Tiliouine, mint and olives from Meknes and oranges and lemons from Fez.
During your hands-on cookery class, the chef will teach you how to make traditional dishes that are central to Moroccan cuisine. Along the way you'll learn about the spices and key ingredients needed to make authentic fare.
Among the most famous Moroccan dishes are couscous, pastila, tajine, tanjia and harira. Although the latter is a soup it is considered as a dish in itself especially during the month of Ramadan. It’s often served with delicious local dates.
For lunch you get to savour the gastronomic delights of your morning cookery class, while enjoying the riad setting. Finally head back to Djemma el Fna Square where the tour finishes. Your local guide can provide instructions on how to get back to your hotel or you can continue your shopping in the local souqs.

This was one of the highlights of my trip to Morocco. Karima was great. Shopping was great. The guest house we cooked at was great. The food turned out great. I am so glad I did this instead of going on another tour of tombs or mosques or other things. This felt like a real experience and I really enjoyed it.

Lovely experience but seriously marred by having to wait over an hour at designated meeting place for guide to turn up
